Inspired by the street posters of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris in May of '68, Shock Battalion was a loose affiliation of artists producing art for the street. "May 1" was a collaboration with Mark Vallen explicitly evoking that connection. My other posters were less overt politically, seeking to comment obliquely through deliberately visually degraded images.
The King/Obama image was inspired by the sense of hope that was so palpable in the summer and fall of 2008.
